2008 Simon Karecki Award Nomination Description/NarrativeThe information outlined below is a required part of the nomination and must be included with the Nomination Information Form. An outline following the selection criteria or narrative format is equally acceptable and should be limited to three pages. Please be sure to specifically address the selection criteria. Additional supporting documentation, i.e., letters from CEBSM faculty and industry personnel and academic transcripts, should be provided as appropriate to augment the nomination and the required forms. Original letters should be sent to the SRCEA by U.S. mail clearly marked for a specific nomination for the Simon Karecki Award or sent via e-mail from the author's corporate or university account. Transcripts may be mailed directly to the SRCEA from the university or included in a nomination package in a sealed and signed envelope. Nominated students may be interviewed with regard to items "B. Demonstrated concern for the Earth's environment," and "D. Demonstrated ability to work with others and foster cooperation." - Academic excellence
- Nominees are expected to exhibit outstanding overall academic ability. While no minimum GPA is defined, the Advisory Board will review transcripts for breadth and balance in course load as well as academic performance.
- Demonstrated concern for the Earth's environment, e.g.,
- Significant contribution to research in environmentally benign semiconductor manufacturing
- Evidence of past efforts or plans to acquire an educational background and training in environmental science and technology
- Demonstrated ability for technical communication, e.g.,
- Publications related to environmental concern
- Presentations at notable conferences
- Demonstrated ability to work with others and foster cooperation, e.g.,

Nominations for the Simon Karecki Award are accepted at any time, but must be submitted by close of business on December 1, 2007, for the 2008 Award.
