February 14, 2002 -- The 2002 Simon Karecki Award was presented to Casey Finstad, a student at the University of Arizona, at the review of the SRC/NSF Center for Environmentally Benign Semiconductor Manufacturing. The award presentation recognized Casey’s research in developing new processes to reduce the impact of wafer cleaning on the environment.

The award is funded by the Simon Karecki Endowment and was presented by Dr. Farhang Shadman, director of the CEBSM, and Simon’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Karecki. Casey was nominated by his faculty advisor, Professor Anthony Muscat.
